Locking articles before a category is shared
If your hotel is linked to other hotels – for example as part of a hotel group or a tourism association – you can share an edition category with them. Your linked hotels then load the shared category as a template for their own editions.
With “Lock Article” you decide which articles the linked hotels have to take over unchanged.
Locking articles
In the article menu of an article in the layout you will find “Lock Article” (padlock icon). This menu item is available as soon as your hotel has linked hotels – whether or not the category you have open is already shared. A locked article shows “Unlock Article” in the same place; use it to remove the lock again.
This lets you prepare a new edition, for example a winter edition, and lock the articles you want before you share the category with your linked hotels. That saves you from opening every article again once sharing is on. Save the edition as usual so that the lock is kept.
Sharing the category
With the share icon next to the edition category under “Saved papers” (“Share this category”) you share the category with your linked hotels.
What applies to the linked hotels?
The lock only takes effect once a linked hotel loads the shared category as a template: locked articles arrive there unchanged, and the linked hotel can neither edit, move nor delete them.
The linked hotel cannot edit the other articles from the template either, but it can delete them and replace them with its own articles.
